Croton Reservoir, NY -- Wife and I went out to hit the Croton only to have a tough day of fishing. Grrr! We launched at 9am, a little late but we planned to be out all day.
We kept landing short fish working every area of the reservoir. We tried rocks, weeds, laydowns, etc. The fish we found came off of weed edges but most were shorts. Our biggest 2 where 2.5lbs, one we actually weighed but the other was relatively the same in size.
We ended fishing at 5pm with a mere 8 fish on the boat, 2 being picks. Most bass were not worthy of a photo but here is one I landed on a spinnerbait....
Weather: Very Cloudy/Rain
Water Temp: 75 Degrees
WHALEY -- Nybass.com had a get together at Whaley lake in New York bringing about 40 anglers together for a full day of fishing. Wife and I where paired up with John "BearPaw" of BearPaw Baits. Everyone launched at 7AM sharp and we all began fishing the weed flats. Fishing was great as we worked all kinds of lures landing fish after fish. Whaley Lake is known for large number of fish catches. Wife and I had fun trying to catch more fish than the other. We both were catching fish after fish so it was not easy to beat my wife. Our final score was 16 Bass Vs. 18 Bass with me winning. -Hehe

OPENING DAY, NEW YORK -- This lake had been closed for 4 years since 9/11 so many anglers lined up to rent a boat to test the water. We launched at 6AM and fished until Noon. Started off on a steep shoreline with limited structure landing 3 smaller fish. Continued along the west shoreline landing much bigger fish as the structure become more abundant. Wife and I hooked up with several fish, the biggest catch caught by her. We were able to scout the majority of the lake and land some nice fish. Clouds started to scatter and day become clear and hot by noon. We had a great time fishing and left to enjoy the rest of our day, Fathers Day!
